Road Trip Day 3
9/15/12
The 3rd and final day finally came. We got up at 6:00am again, packed up the car, and gave Koli some time to sniff around the hotel area and stretch her legs, then we hit the road. There was nothing too exciting about Holbrook, AZ, so we decided to drive to Flagstaff and stop there for breakfast. I did a search for restaurants in the area and came upon a little vegetarian café and coffee shop called Macy’s. We both had the breakfast sandwich, which was a croissant with steamed eggs and veggies and a slice of cheese. It was delicious: I enjoyed a soy latte, while my dad settled for his usual, black coffee. We were able to sit at a picnic table just outside the café, so Koli could keep us company. But surprisingly she got cold and started shivering and whimpering, so she ended up sitting back in the car.

We continued our trip driving the rest of the way through Arizona, and then into the boring deserts of California. Finally made it to my new studio around 3:30. It didn’t take too long, because I only had the first car-load of belongings, the rest of the boxes would arrive Thursday.
Qe ran some errands, Target and Home Depot to get the necessities that neither of us already had. And we built an extra shelf into one of the closets. Good thing my dad was here!
Later we drove to Santa Monica to have dinner. We went to one of my favorite spots Real Food Daily and all ended up ordering the same thing, the Burger with the works. This is one of the best veggie burgers topped with lettuce, tomato, avocado, and a side salad.
